We visited as a family and was absolutely blown away by the place. Tinchule is a small place on a small nondescript place in Darjelling. Mr. Gurung has made a real heaven on this place. There are even mountain bikes, music on the guitar. We had a wonderful time. Food was also out of the world. the fish fry with chutney is still on our tongues. Will definitely visit back.

I had stayed for 2 Nigh in this guest house and I enjoy it a lot along with my family. The Guest House is a small hamlet in the surrounding forest. A lovely place to enjoy the nature wiht worl class hospitality provided by Mr & Mrs Gurung and Family. They always concern about our comfortable stay there and followed up with us for every now then. The food prepared by Mrs Gurung herself and in one words it is awesome. I liked the Achar and the local Fish fry a lot apart form the chicken kosha prepared there. I wish them for there future endeavor caudally and can say ""aging come enjoy the nature with the world class hospitality...""

While we stayed there, most of the staff were on leave as tourists generally don't go there during monsoon. SO for most obvious reasons, the quality & quantity of food was poor. The hospitality was bad. The only advantage of staying there was the beatific view of hills from the rooms and balcony. Sunrise and Sunset are euphoric. Room Tip: Try to avoid the double bedded 4 consecutive rooms. Toilets have no doors , only curtains

First things first, if you are making plans to visit Tinchuley in the foreseeable future, stay at Gurung Guest House...period. The excellent location, outstanding service and mouth-watering delicacies of this facility are every bit a part of the isolated and unkempt beauty of Tinchuley. The panoramic views of Kalimpong hills and the Tista valley from the balcony will tempt you to never leave the premises of the guest house. But if you do manage to cross the threshold, the Kanchenjunga view point is a mere 700 meters walk away. Owner Mr. Dipendra Gurung is an affable and gracious host, and will go out his way to make your stay more pleasurable. He is the resident bird-watching expert and will provide you with the essential checklist. The remarkable thing is that, most of those birds you can observe from the balcony of the guest house! All in all, Gurung Guest House epitomizes your dream abode in the hills and a stay in this little gem of a home stay will only leave you wanting for more.

We visited this place in June 2016. It was a family vacation and both me and my wife thank our stars that we chose this to be our primary location over other better known destinations in North Bengal. The home stay was perfect in every respect. The ambience was awesome ..the food best we ever had anywhere we travelled in India - but the superlative best was the people who manage this home stay. Such caring, friendly and cordial hosts they were, it was exactly like staying at our own home. My two kids 5 and 2 fell in love with this place. It was really difficult to leave the place - they wanted to stay on. We had a cottage with an exlusive balcony opening on to the forest .. morning tea sitting on that balcony was the most relaxing experience I had ever. At night the subtle sounds of the jungle cradles you to deep sleep - out of the world. Most highly recommended if you are trying to escape and want to meet some really terrific people. Gurung Guest House is one of the best guest houses I have ever stayed. I came here from Darjeeling via Takdah. Bus is available from Darjeeling for Takdah and then you have to take a local car for the guest house which is located in Tinchuley village (surrounded by forest). You can directly book a cab from Darjeeling or from Siliguri/New Jalpaiguri to Tinchuley. Rooms are wooden finished with reasonable tariff, clean; food is excellent (unlimited both for veg and non-veg items). You will receive a warm hospitality from Dipendra Gurung and his family members. For plant-lovers it is an ideal place to visit and explore the area by walk.

A tiny hamlet with 17 families , tea gardens , pine and plum trees and if lucky a great view of the Kanchanjunga...... A homely feel with a mother's touch. Warm feel Home cooked meals at extremely conservative prices Everybody chips in to serve. Smiling staff who double up as the guitarist and singer in the common room in the evening Peaceful place. Dipendra Gurung and Team. Hats off to you folks...

First of all I would like to mention the food quality, it's very rare these days to get proper food while traveling to remote places - either it will be too spicy or tasteless. Thankfully we were served fresh, hot and oil free food during our stay. The second important factor is 24*7 hot water availability - in other places we had a bitter experience regarding this - it's really annoying to argue with the hotel stuff while vacationing - it's a mood spoiler!! More over we were always treated politely with all our concerns(trust me some were really silly! 😛 :P) Finally, I will recommend this place to all and of course will stay here if ever get an opportunity to re visit. I travelled in a group of females so we needed a safe and serene place to holiday. When our car arrived in Tinchuley Dipendra the owner welcomed us with a warm smile.. We had an issue with booking two different rooms for two different days due to unavailability however he himself sorted that voluntarily helping us out of shifting hassles. We had good clean spacious rooms with a balcony opening up to the mist and clouds and rain as we went on rainy season.. The food was home cooked so if you're travelling with kids it's not an issue as the owner's sweet aunt cooks and always carries a warm smile.. The staff out there are like family ever smiling to attend all the needs.. Our evenings were spent beautifully with Guitar, drinks mouth watering snacks and music all of which was arranged there as per our wishes.. I was given a guide for a walk trek or you can take a mountain bike ride also if you want.. Walking around amongst mid of Forests and village where clouds are crossing your path and caressing you is a heavenly experience. Gurung Guest House is not a typical hotel and staff are not over professional. They're very homely warm and caring.. I have travelled across a lot of places however I never came across such hospitality. Hat's off to Dipendra for leading such a team.. if you wish to travel with your family kids or friends or maybe with a girl gang like us please do not hesitate as few days off your routined life would bring you close to the nature and it's bliss. The place is safe for women travellers and for infants too.. If you are a nature wanderer like me this will be your heaven.. don't wait just pack your bags and go for it!! Very nice place to relax for 2/3 days short holidays. Hospitality of Mr. Dipendra Gurung and his family is great. They are providing vehicle for sight seeing around Tinchuley. There are few other home stay in Tinchuley, but the best one is Gurung Guest House.

A nice place to relax your Holidays !!! Excellent hospitality from Gurung family especially from Mr Dipendra Gurung. Do not expect facilities of a star rated city hotel but the homely ambience will definitely last in your memory for years to come. 'Gurung's Guest House' is a nice option for accommodation in Tinchuley (A small village on the way to Kalimpong & Darjeeling). In our short trip over the long weekend, altogether, it was a nice and memorable experience and we cherished our every moment with family. Room Tip: Excellent view of sunrise from front side balcony.
